How do I convert a PDF to Excel?
Click "Choose PDF", wait until the tables are detected, choose a layout and click "Download .xlsx".
Can I put every page on its own sheet?
Yes. Choose "Multiple sheets (one per page)" or "Same layout as the PDF" (also one sheet per page). Choose "One sheet" to combine all pages in one worksheet.
Will the Excel file look like my PDF?
Yes, if you choose "Same layout as the PDF": text, pictures, table lines and colours are placed where they are in the PDF, with similar fonts and sizes, and the sheet prints on the same paper size. For scanned PDFs the text is read with OCR, so check numbers and dates.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes, in most cases: for scanned pages the server tries to read the text with OCR. Check the numbers afterwards; if nothing can be read, try a clearer scan.
Which file format do I get?
A standard .xlsx workbook that opens in Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc and Numbers.
What is the maximum file size?
70 MB per PDF.
Is my file uploaded? When is it deleted?
Yes, the extraction runs on our server over an encrypted connection. The PDF is deleted right after the extraction, and the extracted data as soon as you download the Excel file, or automatically after about one hour.
Is it free?
Yes – no sign-up and no watermark.
