How to Merge Odd and Even Pages

  1. Choose one PDF that contains all front sides followed by all back sides, or two PDFs: one with the front sides and one with the back sides.
  2. Leave "The back sides are in reverse order" ticked if you turned the stack over to scan the backs. Untick it if the backs are already in normal order.
  3. Click "Merge pages". The pages are put in the order front 1, back 1, front 2, back 2 … and downloaded.

When you need this

A scanner that can only scan one side gives the pages of a double-sided document in two groups. Instead of rearranging dozens of pages by hand, the tool puts them back in reading order.

Merge Odd and Even Pages – Frequently Asked Questions

How do I combine front and back scans into one PDF?

Choose both PDFs (fronts first) or one PDF that has the fronts and then the backs, and click "Merge pages".

Why is page 2 the last back side?

Because the stack was turned over before the backs were scanned, so the backs are in reverse order. Tick "The back sides are in reverse order".

Can I use it to interleave two different documents?

Yes. Choose the two files and untick the reverse option: the result alternates one page from each file.

Is my PDF uploaded?

Is it free?
