How to Make a Booklet from a PDF

  1. Choose your PDF.
  2. Choose the paper size and the binding edge. For long documents, split the pages into several thinner booklets.
  3. Click "Create booklet", print the file on both sides with "Flip on short edge", fold the stack in the middle and staple it.

How booklet printing works

Each sheet of paper holds four pages: two on the front and two on the back. The pages are placed so that, after folding, they read in the right order – for an 8-page document the first sheet has pages 8 and 1 on the front and 2 and 7 on the back.

PDF Booklet – Frequently Asked Questions

How do I print a PDF as a booklet?

Create the booklet file here, then print it double-sided with "Flip on short edge" (also called "short-edge binding") and fold the sheets in the middle.

Why are the pages in a strange order in the file?

That is booklet order. On screen the sheets look mixed up, but once printed on both sides and folded, the pages follow each other correctly.

My printer cannot print on both sides. What can I do?

Print the odd sheets of the file first, put the printed stack back into the printer and print the even sheets. Test with two sheets first to see which way the paper has to go in.

Which paper size should I choose?

Choose "Twice the page size" to keep the original size. Choose A4 or Letter when you want the booklet on standard paper; the pages are then reduced.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The file is processed by your browser on your own device.

Is it free?
